For Businesses

One relationship for your accounting, your taxes, and the decisions in between.

Most South Shore business owners aren't looking for another vendor. They want their books current, their taxes planned before year-end, and someone who already understands the business when a decision comes up.

The Hingham office of JT Kruk Associates, LLC

We work with owner-operated businesses across the South Shore and beyond — commercial fishing and shellfish operations, marine services, construction and trades, professional practices, restaurants and retail, real estate holdings and family businesses that have grown past what a spreadsheet can carry.

The engagement usually follows the same progression: get current, understand cash flow, plan taxes, improve profitability, and prepare for change. Which step you start on depends on where the business is. Sometimes it's a year of unreconciled records; sometimes it's a profitable business with no idea what next quarter looks like.

Joe leads the relationship directly. That means the person who prepares the return is the person who knows why the numbers moved, and there's no handoff between the tax side and the accounting side of your business.

We're deliberately clear about scope. Services, timing, fees, deliverables and how we communicate are confirmed in writing before work begins, and we tell you who completes and reviews the work.

Common questions

Questions we hear most

Our books are behind. Is that a problem?
No — it's a common starting point. Cleanup is often the first engagement, because advisory work built on unreconciled records can't be trusted.
Do we have to move to a new accounting platform?
Not necessarily. We have extensive QuickBooks experience, including implementation and support, and we'll tell you honestly if your current setup is workable.
Can we start with just the tax return?
Yes. Many clients begin with compliance and add planning or accounting support later, only where it earns its place.
How is the fee determined?
After we understand the scope. Fees are set out in the engagement letter before work starts; we don't publish package pricing.

Better financial decisions begin before the return is filed — or the opportunity passes.
